#18
Woah! January 1st. It always possesses this magical quality, almost mystical if you will. An opportunity to turn pages that read the chapters of our fleeting lives. So here we are. 2018. 18. 8. Let's focus on the number 8. For an English teacher, I have this fascination with numbers and their significance. Can I indulge you? The #8 signifies resurrection and regeneration. It is a # of new beginnings. 8 is 7+1. 7 in and of itself means the end of something-almost like on the 7th day God resting from creation building-completion kinda something. Therefore, 8 is connected with the beginning of a new era or that, wait for it...that of a new order.Listen very carefully: you and I have an opportunity, no a responsibility to set ourselves up for that new order. Many say to throw away what happened in 2017, to forget. Don't you dare do that. There were too many lessons back there. I'll break it down like this.
- Recall all the important shifts and transitions and get understanding-IMMEDIATELY: Destiny, our purpose has stages. Know which one you left off at right around midnight last night.
- Don't throw out the things you executed well last year: I know you did something right. Whether it was an honest assessment of yourself spiritually and physically, in your relationships, in your attitude, etc. Continue to press into those things and go deeper with them. Some things and disciplines are worth carrying over.
- Take new risks to establish new order: This one is so hard, it's almost paralyzing. It takes us being vulnerable, at-risk of failure, and travesty. Yet, sometimes, we gotta do stuff afraid. Very afraid. Of course because we know Who goes with us. But please don't make any resolutions if you are not going to take tangible action towards them. Just sit down and exist if you're not willing to actively and pro-actively move in a certain direction. World changers move, they don't sit. So move.
Let's trail-blaze.
